Cross Ice 3-on-3 Mite League (Mites)

A program that is based on USA Hockey's Cross Ice  initiative. It is open to both boys and girls ages 5-8 who can demonstrate a level of skating ability and hockey knowledge and have successfully completed Intro-Hockey 102 or equivalent program. Cross Ice 3v3 begins in early October and will end in the middle of March. This program has replaced Mite House Full Ice. Games will be played on Saturday morning and one skills practice during the week.

House Leagues (Squirts through Bantams)

Program participants generally have played in a House League Hockey or has a minimum of one year of IntroHockey (102) level of experience.  The player should be able to skate forward, backward and be able to stop.  Ability to do crossovers is not necessary.  Experience in non-CT RiverHawks hockey programs is acceptable but current RiverHawks members will have preference if space is limited.  The House League is open to both boys and girls at all levels.  Squirt House games will be on Saturday mornings with PeeWee/Bantam games on Sunday mornings.  One practices per team following school hours with times and days yet to be determined.

Select Teams (Mites through Bantams)

The CT RiverHawks Hockey Club plans on offering additional, limited schedule, travel-like teams to Cross Ice 3on3 and House League participants at ALL levels depending on the number of children enrolled and the level of interest.  These teams will involve an additional fee and, if offered, will be determined at the end of registration.  Historically, these teams play approximately 20 full-ice games along with supplemental practices.  Select is open to all boys and girls that participate in our Cross Ice 3-on-3 and House League Programs.

Travel Teams (Mites through Bantams)

In general, participants have skated Travel, Select or has at least one year of House experience.  Player should be able to skate backwards, do forward crossovers and be able to do a hockey stop.  Typically, the team practices two nights a week and has one home and one away game each weekend.  Mite B will practice once a week with an additional full ice practice every other week.  Mite B will play one game per weekend (we will supplement the Mite B schedule if interest warrants).  In addition, the team will compete in three tournaments.  The Connecticut RiverHawks Hockey Club plans on having both A and B Travel Teams at ALL age levels with additional C teams depending on interest.  Travel hockey is competitive hockey and is a commitment by both the child and his/her parents or guardian.  Travel is open to all boys and girls.

Midget Teams (Full Year and Half Year)

The Connecticut RiverHawks Hockey Club offers both a Full Year Midget Program and a Half Year Program.
